Human Library

"A Place Where Real People Are on Loan to Readers."

"How would you feel if you go to the library in search of a book to gather information on a particular subject an instead of the book, you are provided with an expert on that subject, talking to whom you can solve all your curiosities."

Have you ever thought that a "Human Book" will ever replace a "Paper Book"?

Everything has changed fast in the 21st century.
The Human Library is designed to create a positive framework for conversation that can challenge stereotypes and prejudices through dialogue. The Human Library is a place where "real people" are on "loan" to readers. A place where tough questions are expected, appreciated and answered.
The concept of Human Library

First started in 2000 in Copenhagen, Denmark, by Ronni Abergel and his brother Dany and colleagues Asma Mouna and Christoffer Erichsen. The human library is a non-profit international organization.
The Human Library Organization is active in over 80 countries.

"The Human Library" creates a safe space for dialogue where topics are discussed openly between our 'Human Books' and their 'readers'.

The Human Library is called "Menskebiblioteket" in Danish. And also Known as 'Living Library'.

Human Library in India

Indore was the first city in India to have a Human Library. Hyderabad was next and then made its way to 9 other cities in India Like Delhi, Mumbai.

How Does it Works?
Human Library is like a regular library where people go to find books. The only difference is that all the books are written by 'Human Volunteers', who have chosen to speak openly about their experiences in front of an interested audience and answer any questions they may be asked.
Simply put, the Human Library gathers people with interesting stories and allows visitors to "read" them in sessions lasting a few minutes.

Human Books in The Human Library

The "Human Books" for the Human Library are actually people who come from different backgrounds. They have experiences they want to share with their readers. Like normal books, "Human Books" also have such titles like as 'Survivor of Trafficking', 'Latino', 'Transgender', 'Black Activist', 'Chronic Depression' etc.
From these, you can choose "Human Book" by choosing the subject of your choice.

Deja Vu - Already Seen And Experienced

Deja Vu

Sometimes when I am doing some work I feel that these things have happened to me before.

When you reach an unknown place, it is as if you have been here before.

Sometimes sitting among people or talking about an issue, it seems that the exact same thing have happened before but I can't remember when ? The strong feeling that , somehow you have already experience what is happening now, which is known as "Deja Vu".

The concept of "Deja Vu" was coined in 1876 by the French philosopher and researcher Emile Bouillac in a letter to the editor of the Revue Philosophies de la France et I'Etranger.

Cause

Being busy, tired, a little stressed and it happens when there's a slight miscommunication between the two parts of our brain.

We encounter a situation that is similar to a real memory but we are not able to full recall that memory.

"Deja Vu" is difficult to study in the laboratory because it is a feeling experience and also because there is no clearly identifiable trigger for it. Nevertheless, researcher use several tools to study this phenomenon, based on the hypothesis they put forward.

Treatment

"Duja Vu" is a highly common mental condition that is transitory in nature. The anxiety associated with feeling "Duja Vu" can be managed by learning relaxation techniques such as take slow and deep breathing, progressive muscle relaxation, visualization exercises and mindfulness meditation.

Is Deja Vu Serious?

For most healthy individuals, Deja Vu has no serious effects other than a momentary feeling of confusion. However, if you are experiencing frequently Duja Vu, a few times a week or more, than you may to go to a neurologist and take advice.

I hope, I have explained "Duja Vu" in a simple and concise language.

Eigengrau, the colour you see when your eyes are closed.

What colour do you think you see when you close your eyes?

Just close your eyes and try to identify the colour you are seeing, is it Black or other? We all think that when we close our eyes it gets dark and we can see only black colour.

Humans can imagine most colours in their thoughts with closed eyes but without imagination we close our eyes and see darkness but it is not a black colour.

It's lighter than Black and is called Eigengrau.

Eigengrau is a German term and this word is combination of two different words that are 'Eigen' and 'Grau'. Word 'Eigen' means 'Own' and the word 'Grau' means 'Grey', it's translates to 'Intrinsic grey' or 'Own grey'.

The word Eigengrau first appeared in the 19th century and is often attributed to the philosopher and physicist Gustav Fechner (1801-1887), who spent his whole life searching for the mysteries of sensation and perception.

When we closed our eyes and couldn't see any light source, the colour of the Eigengrau was very dark grey. It's never  completely black due to noise generated by cellular activities in the ratina and optic nerve.

The Hexadecimal (Hex) colour code for Eigengrau is #16161D.

The RGB colour code is RGB(22,22,99), Eigengrau has a Red value of 22, a Green 22 and Blue 29.

The CMYK colour code is also known as process colour used in colour printing, CMYK stands for Cyan 24.1%, Magenta 24.1%, Yellow 0.0%, and Key(Black) 88.6%.

There are many others colour scales like HSL, HSB/HSV, CIE-Lab etc.

I don't want to go into the deep explanation of this and now I want to wrap up my article.

Interestingly, on the Hex colour code is #000000 and Eigengrau is #16161D.

Eigengrau is a cool colour and has an Light Reflectance Value (LRV) of nearly 1, indicates how light or dark a colour will look on a scale of 0(Black) to 100(White).

So, it's a very dark colour.
